About Me

I've recently finished a ski season in Revelstoke, it was sadly short lived but I've made the most of my time with the pesky virus bringing the world to a slight halt by becoming masters of sourdough and soaking up all the sun I can get. Since then I've been on the road and seeing more of this glorious country which has been incredible. The Okanagan, the Kootenay's, Banff, Yoho, Jasper, Wells Gray, Strathcona, Berg Lake Trail, I've been left speechless more times than I can count and have been loving the island so far.

I grew up in London, where a desire to escape the city grew from a young age. Having saved after school, I left to travel the world for 5 months, venturing across parts of SE Asia and South America. I then moved to Glasgow to study mechanical design engineering because it has one of the best music scenes combined with the fact I'm half Glaswegian so have fond memories of a young Finn loving the place. When you can have a brilliant time in a place where it rains sideways a lot of the time, it speaks wonders for the location - I guess this falls in line with Canada during the winter time.

I love my music, pool, films, beer, hiking, travelling and general adventures of any sort as you can see by the amount of countries I have visited. I'm a happy bloke with a positive attitude on life, and I'm hoping for a more chilled society where we have to work less hours in the day, allowing us more time to develop our interests and have ample time to wind down outside the hectic lifestyle of today - funny how Covid has made this a reality for a lot of people.

I'm always clean and respectful of people's home and space, I look forward to meeting you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Having dreamed of moving to Canada to ski since I was 10 years old, I've now had the pleasure of living in both Rossland and Revelstoke for two winter seasons - I feel blessed! This is actually my first summer in Canada so me and Sam are off on a road trip across BC. There's so many beautiful places to see and we're going to be mainly living in our car, although would be grateful to have a proper roof over our heads at any given point as well as sharing stories with locals to learn what makes the place so special - it seems every town in Canada has it's own lovely story. We plan to go on plenty of day hikes to find the lakes and any hidden locations (please share your secrets with us), plus we love to cook so would be delighted to cook and share our recipes with you (Sam is an unbelievable cook - I'm an unbelievable cleaner).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is too huge a question, although people I am loving at the moment include: FKJ, Tom Misch, Hiatus Kaiyote, Anderson. Paak, Phoniks, Vulfpeck, Jordan Rakei, Nujabes, Submotion Orchestra. The list could go on for ages, me and Sam are both into metal, jazzy hip hop, funk, soul, drum and bass, old school rock, ambient, you name it! Good music is good music.

Movies: Pulp Fiction, Robin Hood, City of God, Hook, Inglorious Bastards, Super Troopers, Pineapple Express, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Guardians of the Galaxy, Jungle Book

Books: Admittedly I'm not the biggest reader (Sam loves to read), enjoyed Dark Days by Randy Blythe (lead singer of Lamb of God) when I was living in Prague, Industries Of The Future, Everything is F*cked,

We're both into psychology books and non fiction, so generally love to learn about people as well as the world - hence we'd love to couch surf with you and hear your stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Finn - Sky diving from 14000 ft across Byron Bay!!!

Volunteering in Malawi was also one of the most eye opening and unforgettable experiences of my life - so much work needs to be done

Sam - Learned to ski on Revelstoke Mountain having never skied before like an absolute badass (terrifying stuff)

Set up two successful creative businesses

Learned to put up with me

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any knowledge we have...

Happy to exchange travel stories, share musical gold, card and board games, make dinner, enjoy some coffee/tea, thoughts on the world, brand and design, businesses/industries we're knowledgable in.
