About Me

12th grade Student in Hamburg who wants to spend as much time as possible experiencing other cultures and correcting things in the world. My parents studied Sinology (basically everything about China + language) and then worked in Hongkong for several years. That’s why I was born and lived several years in Hongkong, and no, I am not Chinese and do not speak mandarin or kantonese either ;) Anyways, I am a passionate runner, which I started in the States during my exchange visit with Cross Country and by now I have ran several half and full marathons with many more to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about Couchsurfing from friends and after I did my research I really thought of it as an amazing way to get connected, which I guess, is why many or most people use Couchsurfing. I appreciate to meet people that bring new perspectives. I'm eager to learn more about the world around me. Of course I can’t deny the fact that for me as a student who doesn’t earn much with his besides school job Couchsurfing is a great way to travel on a budget :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I actually do not spend as much time on watching movies or so as I used to, firstly because I do have to do a lot for school and getting my education right is pretty important for me, and secondly because I do a lot outdoors like exercising, archery and so in. My music taste isn’t quite the one you would expect from an 18 year old boy in school; I like to listen to older music like The Rolling Stones, Alphaville, Queen, LedZeppelin, Tracy Chapman, Talking Heads, Bob Marley, The Doors and the list doesn’t end here. That doesn’t mean I don’t like other music, I actually listen to a lot of other stuff like Latino pop since I’ve been in Nicaragua, or classical Music when learning. I do read sometimes in the morning... usually I wake up at 5:20am to go on a run but if it’s snowing or it’s raining a lot I spend some time reading in the morning which by the way helps to get your brain warmed up for the day :)) Mostly I read science books in English. In the last year I read books from Yuval Noah Harari, Stephen Hawkin, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Richard Dawkins and Mo Yan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Voluntary work in Léon, Nicaragua (2018)
Getting to fly a plane by myself (2017)
Exchange year in the United States (2016/17)
Meeting old friends in Hongkong (2015)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am very curios and want to learn as much as possible. Especially when it comes to stuff in engineering or the evolution of life. I am also the right person to start an interesting discussion about all kinds of topics (e.g. Philosophy, Physics, Engineering, Culture, Religion, Biology, Ethics, Environment and maaany more... I enjoy traveling and would love to hear your best travel memories and places that you recommend.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My cooking skills and happiness of being where I am, but also sharing memories of everything in my life. I would also love to learn from older or more experienced people not only about Couchsurfing but about how the world works... sometimes I just like listening to opinions and sharing mine.
