Overview
About Me
I am a poet, a linguist, a mother, an addict in active recovery and an explorer.
No requests for single night layovers please. We live too far away so there is too little time to connect richly.
I work with endangered languages, specializing in Arapaho on Wind River Indian Reservation.
My daily job is a combination of driving kids around with a kid Uber company and I own a puppy service company called Happy Puppy Times. I have two sweet children, a wonderful husband, one Australian shepherd, two Guinea Pigs and two rats. I love languages, traveling, and travelers. I have a Harry Potter collection from 65 different countries which I blog about at TakingHarryHome.com.
I like Python a lot but my favorite coding language is JavaScript (React, though Redux leaves me baffled).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfers are openhearted people, eager to learn and play, as am I. I want to experience as much of the world as I can, including while I work and raise two kids in the suburbs of Denver. I love when surfers bring their cultures into my home, especially cooking; my kids (10 and 12 years old) sometimes pretend they're running an exotic restaurant if our surfer can cook for us, no matter how basic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I rode horses across Wind River Indian Reservation with a bunch of Arapaho people. It was very very cold.
Teach, Learn, Share
As a linguist I can design a custom lesson for you if you want to learn Spanish, French, Portuguese, German or Arapaho. It's bunches of fun. I helped Rosetta Stone's Endangered Language Department design Navajo, so I can use that skill to make simple language lessons based on whatever phrases you want to be able to say.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd love to just have conversations about places we've travelled, preferably in several languages at once if we both know the same ones! I can tell you all about Native America since I have been a linguist with the Northern Arapaho Nation for 13 years. We can reminisce about globetrotting and enjoy having found a kindred spirit who believes in the ultimate good at the core of human nature.
