About Me
Hello there!
My name is Finn Lucka and I am a 19-year-old guy from a small town (Niederkruechten) ~20 minutes away from Moenchengladbach in Germany. Moenchengladbach is a village close to the border with the Netherlands. It is famous for its soccer club 'VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach'.
I've always been very passionate about soccer. I started playing for a local club when I was a little boy (~at the age of 4) and up to this day I have continued playing.
Besides that I like meeting friends in my free time. Since I have my driving license I'm always on the road and barely at home as I live in a rather rural area and my school and my friends are in the urban parts of Moenchengladach.
The one thing I cannot live without is music. No matter where I go - I always bring my music. I personally think that there's nothing worse than taking the bus/train without a music player or someone to talk to.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Ever since I can remember I wanted to travel through northern America. Now that I was graduated from high school in July 2017 I am finally able to fulfill this dream.
From the 19th July 2017 to the 08th of June 2018 I will be traveling through Canada and the United States of America.
The best way to get to know a country is by getting to know its people - that's why I think that CS is such a great opportunity

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy every kind of music from pop over techno to rock - my favourite genres at the moment are hiphop, rock, folktronica and techno.
When I was younger I also enjoyed reading books but lately I haven't found much time to do so.
I've read the Harry Potter books several times and it is my favourite book series by far. I also enjoyed its movies although they weren't able to fulfill my expectations (books > movies).
My favourite TV series are Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Suits and the Mentalist.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well. It wasn't really a 'good experience' that I made but when I arrived in Toronto I didn't find an accommodation (hostels, AirBnB booked out) for a Saturday and I didn't really plan on spending 150$ for a hotel room... So I decided to store my backpack in a storage room from the hostel where I stayed at for the first two nights and went to a 24/7 Burgerking.. Gotta say that I met very interesting people throughout the night..
Teach, Learn, Share
To be honest.. I'm not a good teacher - nor a good student, but I can teach you some words and sentences of my mother language german.. don't expect too much though.. german doesn't sound as angry as many people think, lol...
What I Can Share with Hosts
- whole story of the night at BK :P
- german recipes (although I am not the best cook)
- I'm happy to help in the household or with anything else
