About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To poperly experience the culture of people, especially those around my age when i travel, rather than just being a confused tourist.
ABOUT ME
I'm a person and I have a pluse. Im 30, pretty alternative and laid back. I talk alot of random shit and love to laugh and make others laugh. I finished a science degree in Sydney, majoring in chemistry, semi nerdish/krishna and now am doing a Master of Environmental Science and Technology in Melbourne. I made this account because i have an obsession with travel and seeing new places, having fun, socializing and meeting new and great people.
2022 update
Most of the information on here is way out of date. I have finished studying and now work for the Environment Protection Authority of Victoria. I have not traveled since before COVID but I intend on going to New York City in August this year.
I travelled around the United States solo and used couch surfing to make friends, have fun and save money.
I live and go to University in Sydney Australia, but am on summer holidays at the moment living on the far north coast of NSW. Actually that was the start of the year, now im back in Sydney. And now im living in Melbourne... and now im just adding recent info rather than deleting and rewriting stuff.
PHILOSOPHY
No person on earth is more important or worth more than any other; regardless of culture, lifestyle, background, race or occupation. We are all organisms interacting with one another on a mass floating in space, so stop worrying about insignificant shit, enjoy life as much as you can and help all other people to enjoy there's.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Couch surfed a bit around the US and it was awesome. I have hosted a few backpackers at my parents place up in my home town near the coast in northern New South Wales. Ive hosted people in Sydney and now Melbourne.
Interests
My favourite past time would be chillin with close friends and just talking/laughing/reminiscing/partying. I enjoy long confusing philosphical conversations.
Sport is a big part of my life, however this year with work and university I haven't been as active as I would like and I also broke my ankle pretty baaaahd. I used to play rugby league for my university, run and work out. I love the ocean, grew up near it body boarding a lot, now I go to uni pretty much right next to it (not anymore, the beaches in Melbourne suck). I'm always down for trying new things or just doing old things again, i like taking risks, because lifes to short to overly question every action, sometimes u just gotta jump in and do it and deal with the consequences later. If the risk doesn't come off, it makes for a good story and if it does, then thats just faaabulous.
A regret i have at this stage in my life is that i can only speak one language. I know i have plenty of time to change that.
And i love good food and good drink. And obviously travel.
Music, Movies, and Books
I like a hell of alot of movies. My favourite music is old rock, old school rap, Indie/alternative, folk, blues, jazz, a bit of electronic, Drum and Bass and a bit of Dubstep... Fav bands/artists include The Rolling Stones, Pixies Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Clash, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dire Straits, ELO, Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Immortal Technique, Old Eminem, Action Bronson, Bob Dylan, Angus and Julia Stone, Boy and Bear, Mumford and Sons, The National, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink 182, The Ramones, Rage Against the Machine, Johnny Cash, Camo and Krooked, Sub Focus, Bassnectar, Collie Buddz, Flux Pavilion, Flume, Netsky, Pendulum... and theres too many to name really... Lots and lots of Australian music is awesome as well. I like alot of other modern day music, just not Pop or RnB. I just generally read random things/articles/books which are recommended.
