About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep studying, travel more.

ABOUT US

We are two Masters students from opposite ends of Britain (Tom comes from near Southampton, Fiona comes from the Isle of Skye!) who have recently relocated to Copenhagen
We love learning and travelling and above all else FOOD, and Couchsurfing is just the best thing ever BWAH.

DESPERATE PLEA(s)

Please read the 'my home' section, our living conditions do not suit everyone!
And please note that unless we get a message that shows us your lovely personalities through a message that talks to us personally and addresses our personal profile, it'll be a decline.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because all too often you just end up doing Scottish stuff in a different place, but if you're staying with someone local then you'll a) have more fun b) meet new people and c) do new stuff

Hosting is the perfect way for us to 'travel' and learn about new cultures without leaving our boat, and a great way for us to learn new recipes :D

Interests

Fiona: fencing, English lit, reading, fooding, whiskey, travelling, sustainability.....

Tom: kendo, history, procrastinating, being a sleepy human, beer, fooding, museums travelling, music, films.....

Please note: Pubs not Clubs
We cannot club. We can only pub. Fish go blub. (Boom Haiku - sort of - Fiona says it's not.. Tom likes it anyway)

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC
Fiona likes Jazz. Tom doesn't. Tom likes country. Fiona doesn't. We agree we both like blues, and Scottish rock (Twin Atlantic! Biffy Clyro!! RUNRIG)

FILMS (not movies *cue rant from Fiona about Americanisation of English* *cue further rant about the correct spelling of AmericaniSation not being AmericaniZation*)
All films by Studio Ghibli. ALL OF THEM. TOTORO.
Bond, James Bond.
Harry Potter, LOTR, Star Wars yadda yadda yadda
Intouchables

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

India. Well, a little bit of it anyway. A very little bit. It was amazing and we cannot wait to go back.

Teach, Learn, Share

We can share absolutely 0 words of Danish. I'm sorry. Turns out Brits are not good at language learning. We can however share some enthusiastic (if not brilliant) cooking!

Also, we can teach you more than you might care to know about wooden boats.

We would love to learn some of whatever language(s) you speak, and most importantly of all, a local recipe.
We like to share our home with people from across the globe, but please please note - we are both full time students and sometimes very stressed with deadlines!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Scottish cooking skills (OK that's mean - we wouldn't subject you to that! Deep fried mars bar anyone?)

Extensive knowledge of Scottish slang words, planning trips to Scotland (and hosting you whilst you're there!), lots of knowledge about Skye

We'd love to take any host out to dinner/for coffee/for icecream/bring you a present to say thank you (: We really love Couchsurfing, and do not see it as simply a way of saving money!
