Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met some rad surfers in Vancouver but can't host at home unfortunately.I couchsurfed for the first time in Montreal and found that my hosts were already part of my greater community, which was amazing.Through this site I met fantastic and radical people in Iceland, stayed in the oldest town in Denmark, was hosted by a lovely fellow in Berlin, and attended a couchsurfing gathering there too.I couchsurfed through friends of friends along the way as well, and met the most wonderful and generous people I could have hoped for.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Sigur Ros, Miss Emily Brown, Elliott Smith, Jonsi, Iron & Wine, The Head and The Heart, Fish & Bird, Arcade Fire, many many more
Books (authors): Ariel Schrag, Matt Hern, Art Spiegelman, Jeannette Winterson, and right now just about any graphic novel you hand me I will read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rosia Montana, Romania- An area that is in great danger of being completely destroyed by a mining project that violates human rights and EU/International law as well as violating nature in an extreme way.
The most beautiful place I have ever been (camped on a mountain plateau for ten days) inhabited by some very inspiring people who are fighting hard for their livelihoods. Also inhabited by lots of lovely cows and sheep and other wildlife.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you:
to knit
to cook quinoa (and pronounce it)
to cook and bake vegan/healthy treats
to cut a simple stencil
to sew something simple
to give a decent massage
to cut crazy haircuts

I want to learn:
to knit better
to sew better
to blues dance
to grow food
to speak a second (and third, and fourth...) language
to keep bees
to play cello and banjo
to identify and harvest wild plants
about traditional healing methods from around the world

Countries I’ve Visited
