About Me

ABOUT ME

What I am most passionate about in life is people. I have become a teacher/trainer because I love people, I travel because I love people.

I am a full time trainer at the University of Applied Science in Amsterdam in many communication skills, amongst which intercultural communication.

I'm also a board member of the local Green Party and a board member of the Education committee for the national Green Party for about one day a week.

Next to teaching and people, I am very passionate about cooking. I am half Indonesian and my cultural heritage of course influences my cooking. However, I am an amateur chef nowadays, having done many cooking courses on all kinds of different types of food.

I love travelling. When I travel, I travel slowly, staying in places for a longer time to get to know people. I have just spent a few days in Paris with an American friend I met in Ireland. I also met lovely new people! :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have not participated yet, but I am all ready to do so.

I have been teaching as a volunteer in Aceh for a week this summer and have plans to do more of it next year. I was teaching as a volunteer also in the townships of Cape Town and in Kampot, Cambodia before.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hitch hiked and ended up on people's couches, but no couchsurfing experience as of yet.

Interests

I think almost everything is interesting, I try to know a bit about everything. I love art and music, I listen to music every day. I try to go to as many cultural events, like concerts, theatre, opera, as possible (money is the limit, really).

I love political and philosophical discussions, I try to keep up to date with everything that is going on in the world.
