Overview
About Me
I’m a native English speaker, born and raised in Australia. Growing up in such an isolated country cultivated a deep desire in me to experience the world. Having now lived in Germany for 6 years, I’m still learning new things about myself, my adopted country, and navigating life as a migrant.
I offer guests a comfortable and safe space, respectful dialogue and sincere cultural exchange.
I work as a freelance writer/editor for a variety of corporate and creative clients, specialising in tech, travel, and lifestyle content creation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find humans endlessly fascinating and I love making people feel welcome in my home. I am full of insider knowledge about this wonderful city, my adopted home of Berlin and I love to share this with my guests.
I have only positive things to say about embracing local and multi-cultural experiences when travelling. If you're genuine and open-minded, you're totally welcome on my couch!
I'm a history and culture nerd so I feel quite at home in Berlin. I would be more than happy to provide you with some local recommendations on how to spend your time here.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love guitar-based rock: especially 80s postpunk and 90s grunge, plus punk and metal. Funk, jazz, soul, opera, ballet - Berlin has it all! And I can show you where to have a great night out. Berlin has some of the best clubs in the world and very occasionally I will find myself down that rabbit hole...HMU for some recommendations.
Some of my favourite artists include Rowland S Howard, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Einstürzende Neubauten, Magic Dirt, St Vincent, Bikini Kill, Hole, Patti Smith, Bjork, Prince, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Springsteen and many, many, more.
I streaming RRR whenever I need a fix from my hometown. Radio Eins, FluxFM, Soundcloud mixes, and a huge swag of podcasts keep me company whilst I work from home.
I love to read!
Writers I love include Roxane Gay, Helen Garner, Susan Sontag, Chris Kraus, Maggie Nelson, Milan Kundera, Patti Smith, Joan Didion, Richard Siken, and so many more.
I really enjoy artist memoirs and bios/realistic fiction/historical fiction/true crime/psychology.
Television:
Six Feet Under, Twin Peaks, Friday Night Lights, Love My Way, In Treatment, Breaking Bad, Orange is the New Black, Broad City, Mad Men, Black Mirror, Transparent, and Parks and Recreation.
Film:
Anything Richard Lowenstein, David Lynch, Sofia Coppola, Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch. I love cult classics (Forbidden Planet! Dogs in Space!) and documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spontaneously leaving my Australian life behind and moving to Europe was a decision I'm glad I made--despite being very underprepared for it. The German language struggle is real! ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help out with your English or give you advice about visas/working as a freelancer in Germany.
German-speaking Couchsurfers are especially welcome ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can take your portrait (make you look hot for Tinder or employable for LinkedIn).
Wine and delicious coffee, of course.
