ABOUT ME
About me...well...I'm probably the most wonderful person you are ever likely to meet...how's that for an opener?! Seriously though, I'm an easygoing, down to earth person and get along with most people and animals in most situations. I do this by treating people how I would like them to treat me - with respect, an open mind, kindness and good humour.
I love good food and drink; cooking and eating together with family and friends is wonderful.
I'm a big fan of our planet and its diversity and as I explore it I hope to open my heart and mind and continue to grow as a decent human being.
Sorry for the old sideways pictures by the way! Just tilt your head ;)
PHILOSOPHY
Know thyself, Shazzoooooo!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couch surfed for a couple of months and had some great experiences with the lovely people who opened there homes to me. After many years of setbacks my modest home finally has a couch worthy of surfing so you're now welcome to try it out! It's great to be able to add to the positivity of this community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had some great Couchsurfing experiences in NZ and Canada. My first was one of the best and I wasn't even part of the community! I was stuck in the middle of nowhere in NZ having a nightmare hitchhiking day and my friend saved my ass by organising for me to stay with his host, Omry, a very nice guy!!! When I eventually got to his place there was dinner waiting for me! It's something you should never expect but what a treat when it happens after a tough day, WOW. Hooray for lovely people!
Interests
Recently I rediscovered my love of bikes and enjoy heading out to the woods as often as I can for a cycle. I wanted to be stuntman when I was a kid...it seems, in some ways at least, I haven't grown up because I still have fun finding things to jump off, go fast around and generally doing things I probably shouldn't.
After all the adrenaline, remembering to stop, breathe and soak in the peace and beauty in nature from time to time is so nice. Yup, sometimes I'm a proper hippy, haha!

Music, Movies, and Books
How about one of each for now or I'll be here all night.
Movie: Grosse Point Blank
Music: Fleetfoxes
Book: Dune
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Night swimming amongst lumanescent plankton in southern Cambodia, wow :D
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some guitar or a tune on my whistle. One of the most valuable things I've learned in recent times are breathing techniques/meditations which I use on a daily basis and would be very happy to share that.
I'm always open to learn new things so please teach away.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hopefully some good conversation and stories at the very least. Music or if there's no instruments I'll sing you a song. I'd be happy to whip up a meal and I also like to help out with house work or any odd jobs to show my appreciation if I'm around for more than a night; so don't be afraid to ask if you need help with anything.
