ABOUT ME
I'm a person who loves to travel, like most people here, and I've been doing it since I was a young girl. I've raised my three daughters to be able to go anywhere and be around any kind of people. My partner, Don, and I value going to new places and meeting new people. We especially like great food, music of all kinds, movies, and opportunities to explore Nature.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My youngest "child", Ylvan, is now 24, and is just finishing an MFA in European Devised Physical Theatre, in Berlin, after having been a serious student of Ballet since very little.
They then chose to go to college and study Modern Dance, and received their BFA from University of North Carolina School of the Arts in a pandemic--when dance companies weren't performing. So they decided to study Theatre--but a form of theatre where movement and all that knowledge of dance will be part of it.
We are now heading to Berlin for their graduation, and then taking them on the road trip of a lifetime to celebrate! If you have availability to help, we will be so very grateful!
So, we are a couple--both healers and musicians and otherwise interested in life--and our artistic and thoughtful young performing artist. We don't need much, just a place to lay our heads at the end of a long day of seeing beautiful places, and the ability to take a shower in the morning before heading out to more. What we can give is a willingness to help out, hang out and share and talk , and openness to new friendships!
Interests
Music, Healing, the Childbearing Year, Travel, Ballet/Dance, Education (especially higher ed), and, with my background in Engineering, Women in STEM fields.
Music, Movies, and Books
Anything except country/western music.
A large part of the 80's was Grateful Dead, and many folk artists, but I came of age in the Chicago Region in the late 70's and love good blues and soul, and many, many other genres.
So, so many books--I was reading when I was 4 and I'll read anything you put in my hands....if I have time!
Movies...I love movies as much as I love books. I do not, however, get the horror genre. Give me comedy, science fiction, history, hopeful stories of human nature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Saudi Arabia as a young girl in the 70's, where my little brother was born, and went camping in a VW camper with my family all over Europe and the Middle East.
