About Me

ABOUT ME

i love my city, my country and i love travelling to new places

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share my country, my hotspots, my culture, bringing more travellers in Albania and help them truly understand and love Albania.

Guys! I am not looking for dates as I‘m married and live with my husband, just people who enjoy traveling, are open-minded and easy going, and what to know what Albania has to offer.

Interests

My biggest value, my biggest defect:
Having a lot of interests and passions.

  • technology
  • psychology
  • society
  • ancient history
  • diplomacy
  • nonprofits
  • history of art
  • history and culture
  • albania
  • albanian folk revisited

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything of:
Guy de Maupassant, Paulo Coelho, Isabel Allende, Ismail Kadare, Ornela Vorpsi, Anilda Ibrahimi, Herman Hesse

Music: I like every kind of music but it depends from the moment/occasion/mood.
I listen very often the Albanians: Elina Duni, Eda Zari, Vlashent Sata etc.
From the Italians Rino Gaetano and all the others!

Albanian movies: Bota, Koha e Kometes, Balkan Pazar, Kolonel Bunker, The Sadness of Mrs. Schneider

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Promoting Albania in many ways in Italy, from interpreting for a documentary on burrnesha to writing a piece in the book "Donne d'Albania. Tra modernità e tradizione", from presenting Albanian small concerts to helping with the Concert of Sanctification of Mother Teresa (of Albanian blood) with Rita Ora etc.

Fighting for citizenship rights of 2nd generation children of immigrants, but also being one of them, with my double sense of belonging, volunteering in Italian National Civil Service, it was an empowering path, even if I'm yet an Italian without citizenship.

Finding, cultivating and preserving the love of my life at the other side of the Mediterranean Sea.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know very well Albanian culture, history, music, art and tourism. Albanian hospitality is based on “Bukë, kripë e zemër” (bread, salt and heart). If you want to understand what it means, I’m here (street food, restaurants, recipes etc., for all budgets). I also teach Albanian language online, you’re so lucky!

I've been raised in Rome so I can share with you my 16/18 years there being a 2nd generation child, a student (Classical Liceo/Gymnasium studying Latin, Greek, Archeology) and Psychology at the University, an activist for immigrant rights and a promoter of Albanian culture and art.

We can go (if free) at some galleries/museums in Albania.

I can teach you some Roman recipes and some Albanian (the easiest ahaha).

I'm good at tech, graphic and social media.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd like to share with you everything of Albania. I can suggest you my places in all Albania but especially in Shkodra (at my parent's house) and Tirana (where I live). Just be clear about your interest because Albania has so much to offer and choice it's up to the guest.

In TIRANA
I live in a small flat and I can offer a hot shower, laundry, a meal and a sofa/air mattress.
Be aware that I have a sterilized cat, so if you have issues, better tell me before so I can explain better the situation that can vary.
As I am not always in Tirana and I don't earn from hosting, would be nice to understand that my house in Tirana is not always very clean and uncluttered but is enough to be livable and enjoyable. *Luca 10:41

In SHKODRA
The house is almost inhabited so don't expect great things but there are always clean sheets, a private room with birds twittering , laundry, hot shower some hours after my arrival, a yard and a garden, two bikes (one for me and one for you), an ikea portable induction cooktop, eventually some Albanian herbal tea and Italian pasta in the kitchen. The other room has the angular sofa. I sleep there or at my relatives.

PS: Sometimes I'm busy and can't show you the city so it would be better to explain me your expectations so please tell me what's your style of traveling and what do you expect from your host: if you prefer to travel alone and manage your schedules independently or if you totally need companionship and hate loneliness.
I'm in between and flexible but I have always things to do so just be clear.

FEEDBACK
Please, if you stay more than 1 night, give me some feedback about your sleep and the house. There's always time to improve, if you don’t believe so, sorry but CS is not the place for you.
If you want to help with the house, you're welcome.

Communication (and sincerity) is the key to every good relation, even those on Couchsurfing!
