About Me

CURRENT MISSION

explore France and Europe and meet new people!

ABOUT ME

Hey ! I'm Fiona! - an Irish name it occurs to be. why? well, my dad is turkish and my mum's english, well, half. but her family lives in canada. And I was born in France, but I've also lived 2 years in Australia. So, no I'm not Irish nore am- I related to Ireland in any way. But I've got an Irish name. hehehehe :D

I've just finished my studies in Rennes, (France) so now I'm a social worker! I did my last year internship with migrant kids and I really loved it. Then i worked a few months in a foster home for teenagers. It was a really cool too but I was not ready to settle and have a "real" job and everything. So I quit my job in September and started traveling again!
Again? Yes, because a few years ago I went to Australia an travelled there for 2 years ! It was such a great experience, I'm just reallyyyy excited to do it again in some other parts of the world!! I love meeting people!
This time I visited different countries of Europe and spent 6 months in South America (Colombia, Equador and Peru) .
Now I'm back home, working as a social worker and planing new trips :)

I aspire to be curious, adventurous, skillful in cooking and positive...
So bring in the positive vibes people!!!

Now, thats enough about me, we can talk about all that when we meet!

PHILOSOPHY

“It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed a bit while travelling through Australia and Malaysia and decided to open my house to travellers when I came back home!

When I'm traveling CS is the best way for me to meet local people as I'm often on my own!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said, I Couchsurfed while travelling in Australia and then S-E asia, and was always incredibly well hosted!
I also attended a few CS events in Melbourne and the spontaneous ones were the ones I enjoyed the most! It's nice to be able to just go for a coffee and meet new people!
Introducing weekly meetings to my host in Kota Kinabalu- Malaysia- was also a great experience!
back in France and I had the chance to host a few travellers in my flat in Rennes! It feels so natural to give back the positive vibes I was lucky to get while being hosted during my trips! Now living in a shared flat it's a bit harder to host but I still go for drinks with CSs when it's possible!! :)

Interests

I love people! Seems weird said like that but it's true. I love chatting, listening, watching people. I've met people from many different cultures and I've always learnt sooo much!
I also like photography (witch is, somehow, a way to look at the world!). I'm not really good at it but I'm trying to learn more to improve my skills!
And last but not least, COOKING! trying different sorts of cuisine, tasting spicy, sweet, sweet and spicy food, cooking new sorts of vegs, trying to reproduce nepali curry, malaysian noodles, sucking at it, trying again. Yeah I love cooking. and eating. Dont know which one the most.
