Overview
About Me
People around me describe me as down to earth, genuine and compassionate. I was born and raised in the capital city of Morocco - Rabat, then moved to Europe in my 20s for studies and work. I had the chance to live in 5 different countries so far where I met a lot of people from all over the world, learned different languages and cultures and made long-lasting friendships.
Professionally, I worked for the United Nations and for multiple research projects on climate change, maritime planning, tsunamis, disaster risk reduction, lagoon ecosystems, and other earth, coastal and marine related subjects. Now, I just moved countries yet another time, but this time from my dream job.
Beyond my career, my ultimate dream in life is to master the piano, publish a book that I have been writing for a couple of years now and build a farm in the countryside, build a house and a food forest with multiple plants> My farm will be close to the Mediterranean, have fig, olive pomegranate, walnut, almond, and avocado trees. And I will raise ducks, chickens, goats, sheeps and horses and lots of dogs and cats of course!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing to learn and expand my horizons through meeting new people. I am also very eager to meet and learn from people that choose to live a simple life in the countryside, the ones that believe that the most joyful life is the simplest one. I would like to hear people's stories and learn about their world and see it through their eyes and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
Living in an island is an interesting personal experience that pushed my boundaries and made me reflect about the sense of belonging. To support this internal/external exploratory journey I'm reading Brené Brown's book on Braving the Wilderness. I am listening lately to my Brazilian playlist during the day and to my jazz/slow bossa nova playlist at night both I curated myself. The Last movie I watched was Jerry and Marge Go Large.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Summiting the highest mount in North Africa - Toubkal mount, in a spur of the moment with slippery sneakers and without previous planning or preparation. It snows up there, It got scary, but I survived! In another occurrence in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean I almost got swallowed by a whale shark and I danced, yes literally, danced with a Manta ray. It was synchronized, I'd never forget her, yes I'm sure it was a her! She was 3 times my size, a gorgeous Majestic creature!
