About Me

Hey there! Name's Firdaus, but you can call me Daus :)

Well, firstly, I don't know what to say much here, cause I'm more talkative in person, which you'll realized once you've met me. But just to sum it up, I'm here to help out new and old travellers alike, as I'm a frequent traveller myself, and to make new friends along the way.

I'm a very practical kind of guy. I can adapt to any given situation, and if it's a skill, I will learn it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I mention before, I like to stay connected with people around the world. That's the main reason I join Couchsurfing. Adventures & curiosity are my personality. I'm a up and about kind of guy, so I'm always up for new things, whether its good food, ideas or a new experience altogether! And every time I meet new people, I will try my best to understand, learn and empathize with them of whatever conversation we'll have.

Interests

Interests? I'll tell you once you're "interested" in knowing. BAZINGA! Hahaha

Sorry, I'm bad at puns. But I can't help it.

But seriously, I have a wide spectrum of interests to put it all up here.
So let me just say that my main interest is to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music:
Apocalyptica, Three Days Grace, Herman's Hermit... A lot actually, I can't really list them all. I just like whatever music that I like ;)

All time favorite movies: The Count of Monte Cristo (2002) and all Studio Ghibli movies.

Books: The Codex & Le Comte de Monte-Cristo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking alone around Europe for two weeks while heaving 30kg worth of luggage from a 6 month internship in France in 2014 with very limited cash budget.

So from that experience, it has make me more:

1. Independent of myself. Learning to handle everything that comes in my way with a calm and critical analytical approach.

2. To always be prepared. And I mean, ALWAYS.

3. Enjoy the little things as they pass by. Even the smallest of things. Like a simple night stroll along the street of Paris or just gazing at the stars and sea in Venice.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I said, I'll be curious about you and would like to know more about the people I meet. Ultimately, I want to exchange & share all the experiences I have learned from my journey in life.

My culture, my language, and my passion for food.

And as a plus, I used to be in culinary school for 2 years and have work in several restaurants (last one being in France), so when you're with me, I'll show you all the ingredients and dishes I've known and learned, and I'll be more than happy to teach you as well.
