ABOUT ME

I am a widowed mom of one amazing 10 year old son who can keep up with the best of them. He goes with me pretty much anywhere I go and knows how to to win the hearts of almost anyone he meets. We backpack and camp in remote places off the beaten path. I have worked in an Emergency room as a trauma nurse and volunteered as a firefighter for 14 years. Currently am working in urgent care for better hours and more freedom. I love learning about and meeting people from different cultures and walks of life. My life has been anything but typical and I think it's wonderful to exchange life experiences. Plus I have a zest for exploring new, amazing, and challenging places.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would really like to have company in my home and would love to share adventures with like minded people all over the world. I would also love to be able to feed everyone who comes through my door, however, I am not always financially able. If I have the food and am cooking, then you will be welcome to it :) otherwise you will need to anticipate bringing your own foods/eating out(I can make recommendations)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed in Ireland, though it was unplanned and not through a couch surfing website, and I absolutely loved it. I made life long friendships with my hosts and knew immediately that my couch would always be open to well meaning travelers. I have had several people stay on my couch as well and really enjoyed the company.

Nearly summited a 14,000 foot peak with my son when he was 6 years old( we turned back about 800 feet shy due to our companion getting altitude sickness, my son wanted to keep going ;)
