About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world, expierience different cultures, and to build a few bridges between continents along the way.

ABOUT ME

If I wrote all about me, I would eventually run out of room to write. However, since most of it would just be mundane trivialities, I'll spare both of us the boredom and stick with the good bits (or at least the bits I believe to be a little better than most).

I was born on the east coast of the US. Spent my childhood in the mid-west, and my teenage years on the west coast. I graduated high school a few years ago, attended a junior college for a semester, and then for some reason I enlisted in the US army.

I've always dreamed of traveling the world. The fact that during one summer break from school I took a trip with my dad to China and Mongolia only strengthened that dream. When I graduated High school my goal was to set out on a trip around the world. At that time in my life though, I was ill prepared for what the world would have thrown at me as well as not being in the finacial position to embark on such a journey. I ended up joining the military instead for some reason, and up until now I was under the impression that I had to put my dream on hold while I served my contract. CouchSurfing is one of the few things that gives me hope that my dream may still be alive and doing well.

PHILOSOPHY

Every moment of my life is part of a greater story.
It's my goal to make that story as interesting as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined the CS Project so I don't feel I've had much opportunity to contribute other than verifying my account and making a donation. In the future though, I truely hope to participate more by sharing in enriching expieriences with other CS members. Whether it be through hosting, or traveling abroad myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I must regrettably say that the only CS experience I've had so far is wondering through this wonderful community site. I find myself filled with hope and excitement for all the possibilities CS has to offer. I can't wait to get out there and start surfing.

Interests

Seeing whatever I can of the world no matter what way, shape, or form it comes in.
Reading, it's one of my oldest and deapest passions.
Living life now, so that I'll have good stories later.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would have to say it was definetly the trip I took to Mongolia with my father. The moment I remember as the most amazing though took place during our land cruiser trip through the Gobi. We'd stopped to camp for the night in the middle of a great, wide open steppe. I remember waking up from sleeping under a tarp between our two vehicles and looking up. Way off in the distance, across this massive expance of land, there was a mountain range. The entire sky behind it was purple and every once in awhile a sharp bolt of lighting would pierce the placid sky. It was slightly eerie, but very impressive because it was so quiet. I remember only a slight breeze stiring the grass. Only an occational, though very faint, rumble of thunder drifting across the steppe. So far, I've not experienced anything of the sort with my own senses that could rival that.
