ABOUT ME

I managed a bookstore for about 7 years, and when they closed that down I went back to school and just recently finished up my Masters of Library Science. I have an irreplaceable urban clan of friends here, and a fantastic group of people I have connected with over online communities across the globe, but have only managed to visit a few of them, and had a number of them come visit me. I have two cats and a clan of ferrets- as well as a very talkative starling.

Both David and I thoroughly enjoy boardgames, have quite a few in the house, and love teaching them to or playing with folks who stop by.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted twice through this community, and have met up with one local surfer. I have been very active in other online communities, and as a result have ended up in Arizona to meet an online contact (and have been back a few times! We really hit it off), and have had folks fly out to meet me from North Carolina, and a few drive up from Virginia and Maryland.

Intereses

I read, write, listen to music, chat over coffee, and watch all manner of movies. I firespin, play board and video games, hike and camp. I garden extensively, as there is nothing as good as picking your food fresh in the morning.

I am fairly addicted to both coffee and tea. There is a lot in the house. A lot.

I read mostly science fiction and fantasy, but I do make the occasional foray into literature and mystery. Sarah Monette, Simon R. Green, Sherwood Smith, Patricia Briggs, Lois McMaster Bujold...the list gets extensive. Music and movies trend to be insanely varied.
