Keep in mind that I do prefer to host during the weekend, ( 1-2 days is perfect, it could be negotiated if you need 1 or 2 days more to catch your ferry or flight) however you always may ask, sometimes it's possible to host during the week if I'm in Faial. However It's quite sure I wont host during working days. Please do not send requests 6 month previously, I never know if I have to be in other island on the next day or month. . LGBT friendly,

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Usually I try to give my best to my guests. Even in the summer when I am more busy, I always try to have at least a meal or glass of wine with them. Sometimes in the weekend I may cook a portuguese dish to share with my guests, or we go out for dinner or a drink. A tour around the island is always included if my work allows me to do it. I try to do the best I can, and make them feel welcome. With no exceptions all will have spare key, so they can feel free to use the house, the only condition is respect my sleeping hours.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I would say that CS is a perfect way to make new friends. My experiences have been all positive, that is why I still believe in the CS spirit. CS gave me the opportunity to meet wonderful people, persons I would never forget.

Interests

I spend my free time reading and writing mostly, in the summer time I love to go to the sea side, and enjoy the sea and the sun. Good red wine, and a few traditional portuguese dishes are also very welcome.

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: Once Upon a time in America and Sweet November Finding Forrester. Books: Almost all the portuguese classics, and a few russians: Dostoievski,Gorki and Tolstoi. Musics: I am interested in all kind of music, recently started to listen jazz, I may say that jazz enchanted me. JANIS JOPLIN,Rodriguez,Joni Mitchel, Leadbelly, Odetta, Bessy Smith,Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, Joy Division,New Order, Billy Idol,U2, Pink Floyd, Enya,Meat Loaf, Classix Nouveaux and a few portuguese bands.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bathing in the water falls in Sao Jorge Island. Diving in Faja de Sao Joao with my friend Henrique. Climbimg Pico mountain and Monte Gaíno in Italy!Socialize and eat with the Indians Pataxos in Brazil in the midlle of the Atlantic forest. Drive across Tunisia with no guide or destiny. Dive with sharks in Cape Verde islands. Dive with dolphins in open seas between Pico island, and Faial island.

Teach, Learn, Share

I may share with you all my knowledge about the Islands History, or tell you some good story from the time of the colonization. I know a lot about Islands genealogy and I may share it with pleasure. Also you may join me on snorkeling which is one of my favorite sports.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share with you, my lovely house turned to the ocean, in there you may cook your meals if you wish. I may take a tour around the island with you if you stay with me on a weekend or on my holidays. On summer we may go for snorkeling and enjoy our lovely sea. I love to chat, so a late night conversation and a good glass of red wine could be included!

NOTE: Due to my job ,I travel a lot between islands, so I prefer to host at weekends when I am around. Any way you always may send requests, if I am on the island, you will be very welcome!
