ABOUT ME

I'm kind of ... confused?
I do a lot of things in life and I sometimes I feel like I have multiple personalities and each one is fighting to be the main one.
So, yes.
I'm just changing my profile description right now because I read my old one and thought to myself, "Wait, that's not me." But it is me. Just not now. Now another personality took over. Do I sound deranged? I'm not. I think that I'm too introspective. Probably.

Let me now state some things about myself that never change. I'm a feminist. A vegan. A film-buff. An activist (climate, animal rights, human rights, gender equality, LGBT rights, economic equality ...). A teacher. A writer. An avid reader.

I work as an activist for Društvo Ključ that fights human trafficking.
I tutor children with learning difficulties English.
I teach seniors English as a volunteer.
I work in a teahouse in Ljubljana.
I'm finishing my master's degree in English and Slovenian studies. My MA thesis is on conceptual metaphors in English and Slovene idioms.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

***I first have to state that THIS IS NOT A DATING SITE and unwanted advances can really ruin a CS experience and make your couchsurfer feel unsafe and scared. Don't ruin Couchsurfing by mistaking it for a dating site. USE TINDER. It works.***

I only hosted once through CS and it was a lovely experience. I was a guest a couple of times and it seems like I wasn't too horrible, haha. The people that hosted me were wonderful and much cooler than me, so it's hard to say :)

I also hosted a lot of people that I somehow met in person while they were in trouble. People think I'm crazy for that and that I put myself in danger inviting random people I meet on streets to my flat. But I have to say I've never been afraid. I kind of believe there's not a lot of people who are seeking to harm someone.

For example I invited two homeless guys to Christmas dinner when I went to take a walk outside on Christmas Eve and saw them searching through trash for food. My favourite Christmas ever!

Music, Movies, and Books

I think of myself as a film buff. People like to disprove me. I love David Lynch, Lars von Trier, Alejandro González Iñárritu, ...

Music: just like ... all genres - alternative, post-punk, jazz, indie, electronic, rap, trap ... Oh, and I should mention I love Depeche Mode and have been to three of their concerts already. And I love the whole 70s/80s British music scene.

Books: I'm quite big on Bukowski and Oscar Wilde and Hanif Kureishi. Also, Kundera is quite a bastard, but I like him sometimes.
