About Me

I am a open minded and enthusiastic person who loves to get in touch with other cultures and considers being hosted abroad a great opportunity to practice languages and feel at home out of his own "comfort zone". If you need some accommodation near Milan I am sorry I can't help you right know, but I am more than happy to give you some tips about what to do when visiting northern Italy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking forward to experience travel through the eyes of a local. Visiting a foreign country is definitely a great way to know interesting people, enjoy cultural exchanges and have cool conversations. I believe there are no strangers, only friends we have not met yet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My last CS experience was definitely Amazing! During the second half of August 2018, I have been traveling with my two heavy backpacks for about a week (yes, I know, that is a lot of stuff to keep on your shoulders for a short trip, 8 days only... well, I will keep that in mind for next time) around N. R. Westfalia, Maastricht and Liège, in the Germany-Nederlands-Belgium border area.
This trip was indeed short but still rich in good memories; I could improve my English and French language skills and also ... ehm, actually my German not that much!
I am still laughing about when my host in Aachen asked me if I could speak German , when I answered "Mein Deutsch ist sehr schlecht" and he replied telling me that it was not bad at all, instead of being thankful all I said was "Nah" (Yep, that it is all I said)!
I did not want to be rude but I was so embarrassed about my broken German that I just did not know what else I could say... anyways in the end I could easily travel around Germany on my own and reach the Nederlands and Belgium without any problems, meeting some nice, friendly locals and asking for directions in German, BTW other people told me that I could speak German well, so I guess that it is actually not that bad or either locals are too kind while speaking to funny looking backpackers! :)

I am looking forward to do another short (or even shorter, unfortunately, due to my lack of free time) CS trip in Europe soon.
Some places I would like to visit in the future are Georgia, Cyprus, Poland, the Baltics, Hungary, the Spanish Atlantic Coast and Portugal.

I am looking forward to meet some of the friendly couchsurfers on my way :D
