About Me

I'd love to live the life of the photographer of Antonioni's "Blow Up": a studio in London, a cool car, beautiful girls... a mystery :) I'm living mine instead. But almost halfway there.

Here you can find my music artist page: gigmit.com/theutopianist
Here are photographs: http://fittingoff.wixsite.com/fittingoff

Feel free to text me on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/fitting.off but, please, make it not last minute, as it may take some time to check my "other" inbox.

I have sent millions of requests still pending, and will never leave a person with no help.

I am not easy, and have a narrow emotional range. I don't mind you being a serial killer, if you can warrant my own security.

Let all flowers blossom, just outside my garden.

I know two ways of showing appreciation: words and physical contact. Speaking is quite an energy consumption. I am rather good in touching. I can't be old-fashion polite and comfortable at the same time. Can you?
I could keep shy in your presence, if it would be what you prefer.

My experience shows that, actually, most of all those "open-minded, enjoying life, hospitable" persons in the community can provide you with just good rejection letters. So far as they don't get the idea of travelling as of shifting boundaries but just having fun and taking attention, when busy with some affairs, they'd rather leave strangers outside, hoping there would be lots of other "open-minded" persons who let the stranger in. As they are all of the same feather, a stranger should have rather earned enough for staying in hostels or stayed at home.

There are other people who I meet and stay with, and, if lucky with circumstances, go back to as a real friend.

I know I may sound sulky, but I am not thaaat bad. Please refer to the references. Thanks for reading :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would never travel if Couchsurfing didn't exist.

First, I hate being on my own in an unfamiliar place.
Second, composing music, my main occupation, doesn't bring me enough money.

Yes, I use your hospitality; moreover, I want to enjoy you. So, I spend a lot of time selecting profiles to ask for a place. My request means my desire to get to know you.

Language barrier makes people equal. Making friends outside one's own country is always luck.

I believe we need to be hospitable not only for the tactics of being supported as travellers in the future, but also for the strategy of making strangers not feel alien. Thus, who knows, we may prevent a war, as there should be no reason to fight friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

All the books I have read - quite a lot - are written in Russian or translated into Russian, so it may prove we've read different ones :)
I have read one book in English (its original language), though. It is "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". I couldn't help crying all my way through it, in spite of my habit to read in public transports and therefore having my tears exposed to the others.
I am fond of reading.

Music: Chopin, Bach, Scriabin, Pink Floyd, Portishead, Radiohead, Placebo, Laurie Anderson, Kubikmaggi, Ksenia Fedorova, and a few more

As to my favourite movies, here they are:
24 Hour Party People,
7 Psychopaths,
American Beauty,
Blue Valentine,
Boy Meets Girl (Leos Carax),
Burn After Reading,
Cabaret,
Death at a Funeral,
Den Brysomme mannen (The Bothersome Man),
Dogma,
Dolls (Sakowa),
Henry Fool,
In Bruges,
Inconscientes,
It's Russian,
Knockin' On Heaven's Door,
Leon,
Life Aquatic With Steve Zizzou,
Midnight In Paris,
Playing The Victim (Serebrennikov),
Rushmore,
Shapito-shou,
Shark Vs. Eagle,
Starsky & Hutch,
The Brown Bunny,
The City Of Lost Children,
The Dreamers,
The Fabulous Destiny Of Amelie Poulain,
The Meaning Of Life,
The Men In Black,
The Return (Zvyagintsev),
The Royal Tennenbaums,

Zatoichi.

I believe I will always enjoy another film from Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Martin McDonagh, Alex van Warmerdam, Takeshi Kitano, the Coen brothers, Jos Stelling, Miyazaki.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

my girlfriend(s)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my opinion about almost everything, still it may controvert yours.

I'd love to learn English as well as I know Russian and to stop being afraid of death. In return, I can teach you cooking four kinds of eggs variously served.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can play the piano, if you have one.
I can improvise with you, if you have a bass or a guitar.
Should your fridge be full of decaying food while you hate cooking, we can make a perfect pair. I am a well-known fridge "cleaner" among friends of mine.
I can definitely do dishes. You may also find your white kitchen and bathroom facilities cleaner, as I hate dust on sinks etc. Seems, I just get embedded in a household.
