Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I don't like paying lots of money for sterile, bland hotels. I'd much rather develop lasting connections with eccentric, vibrant, and unique individuals. I've done plenty of Airbnb'ing (still do sometimes while traveling) and have had great experiences, but I'm very intrigued by the way this community seems to take this a step further. Plus who doesn't like saving some money?
I also very much enjoy the culture and community associated with this site. I've met great people, and I look forward to meeting many more here.
Interests
I love to both give and receive recommendations for discovering local live music. I love the web. I'm an ice hockey official.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was younger, I marched three summers in a drum and bugle corps called the Boston Crusaders.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some about the Vedic way of life, like Ayur-veda (healthcare), Sthapatya-veda (architecture), and Gandharva-veda (music). Or I can teach you how to read classical music. Or I can teach you about how Google/Facebook/etc. makes money through advertising. Or I can teach you about web programming. Or I can talk your ear off about hockey.
I want to learn about your culture, wherever it is you come from, so that if I were to visit your hometown, state, region, or country, I would feel like a local.
Let's share a delicious meal at a unique restaurant, or some time around a fire on a chilly night, or a walk in a nearby park, or a late-night drink at a quiet bar, or an early-morning cappuccino at somewhere besides Starbucks together.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd like to think that I can offer an interesting and meaningful human connection. At the very least, I'll be a respectable and appreciative guest who won't steal your things.
