ABOUT ME

At 6'7" or 201cm tall, my friends would describe be as 'tall' or 'Big H'. I'm pretty easy-going and get along with most every kind of person, so long as they are respectful. I work in the hotel indsutry and working with the travelling public is something I enjoy. I have a commerce degree and am originally from Germany, so I am fully bilignual. I am married and we have 2 children, aged 8 and 6. We all love to travel, whether it's camping or doing a road-trip or getting on a plane - it's something we started early with our children and they love it too, now.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am active in my kids' school as a parent-volunteer. I watch all their practices and games in sports and also volunteered as a Beaver Scout leader.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far - I've not utilized Couchsurfing for travel but I hope to.

I love to travel and have been fortunate to have done a fair bit but am always dreaming about my next trip. I now have an 8-year old and a 6-year old so our travel has been fairly close to home and fairly 'safe' such as to Hawaii, Disneyland and the Grand Canyon, but I can't wait to take my kids to Europe and hopefully, one day, on safari in Africa.
I'm active in my children's school and extra-curricular activities, either coaching or watching the games they play (such as soccer and baseball, swimming and dancing etc). I love going to concerts and am a big U2 fan and I also like to excercise, either using a TRX or doing P90X in-home boot-camp.

1) Travelled around Australia and was in Sydney for the 2000 Summer Games.
2) Was one of 5000 fans who made it to an open-call invitation from U2 to come and be in their video-shoot of 'City of Blinding Lights' - filmed at Rogers Arena, Vancouver BC.
3) Met the Dalai Lama, when he stayed at the hotel I was a manager at.
