ABOUT ME

I've just started a new chapter of my life - moved to London and will be starting my new city job in August, but until then I have some time. Unfortunately I wont have a spare couch until Sept when I move into a bigger place- but can definately offer coffee and a tour.

PHILOSOPHY

To try and live for today, as tomorrow never really arrives. (but its harder said than done!)

Interests

I love learning languages. At the moment French, Japanese (badly), Latin, a bit of Chinese, ditto Hebrew, and a smattering of what i can remember of Ancient Greek. But also I love linguistics, and want to learn anything i can about the subject area, especially sociolinguistics. Im a fencer (sword-fighting) and will willingly challenge anyone to a duel! HA!

Music, Movies, and Books

Films: French film noir and nouvelle vague. Films with less blood, and more thought.
Music: My music collection is ever growing, with every new person I meet I find a new type of music I like. Japanese lullabies on pipes are truely breathtaking.
Books: Lovely Bones, Northern Lights, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ive watched the northern lights from a tent in Iceland. I didnt even notice the cold
