About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To keep enjoying each day one laugh and smile at a time

ABOUT ME

I'm currently living in a South African township as a Peace Corps Volunteer helping with science, maths, and technology education at several schools. When you sign up for Peace Corps they tell you not to have any expectations, and I didn't, but even so this is nothing like what I did (or didn't) expect. That being said, I'm still enjoying the experience very much and have learned so much about the world, humanity, life, and my self.

PHILOSOPHY

Life's to beautiful to spend it all thinking of what could have been or what your going to do. Take each moment, each breath, each step and enjoy it as with 110% of your self.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined CS so haven't had that much experience. But I'm hoping it will be a great way to get to know more people in and around South Africa. On my trip last December through Mozambique and Swaziland my self and two other friends mostly stayed in backpackers and it felt like we were detached from the local people. After being immersed in the local culture through my Peace Corps experience I want to be able to have that on future vacations as well.

Right now as far as people staying at my place goes. I could maybe have just one person for a night or two. I'm living with a host family and sometimes other Peace Corps will spend the night, but all I have is one tiny room so a foam mat and a few sleeping bags is all I have to offer. I definitely plane on opening up my house or apartment to surfers when I go back to the United States.
