About Me

CURRENT MISSION

If I not currently traveling myself, then why meet travelers near me?!

ABOUT ME

I'm skinny, always smiling and laughing, have 'characters' NOT personalities, I'm caring and sarcastic, don't party like a traditional American (yet somehow still get tipsy here and there), enjoy conversation and complete openness and honesty, enjoy being naked, would prefer to sit in a hammock on the beach, 420 friendly (not as easy in Idaho), love eating delicious sweet treats (honey and chocolate are 2 faves). As well, I'm more of a snacker throughout the day than a large meal eater!

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that if I'm able to help someone, even if its just to help them smile that day, I've done my job as a human. I tend to go along the lines of existentialism, that life is made of choices which bring you to other choices. . .we may have some pre-planned direction, but how we live and choose to live with others makes the difference.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can truly say that I'm a host and a surfer by way of CS! While not currently able to host, I still enjoy meeting up with CS'ers passing through the area!

I've had nearly perfect experiences thus far, with true CSers, and have introduced friends and other fellow travellers to the site, after they have passed the 'surfing test' by staying with me without incident! Of course, I would love to continue this here in the States and beyond. . .

To see a place with a local is ALWAYS the best way to get an idea of the thoughts, perspective, situation and feel of a city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Nearly everyone I've met have been pretty good people, and my first experience was one to remember in Barcelona with Drew and Lisa! In the past I have always been willing to host someone that's a friend of a friend when they don't have enough money or room to stay somewhere fancier. A pleasant home is always more comfortable with good conversation and stories! Cooking food together, massages, listening to music or watching movies always seem to keep the mood pretty relaxed and open! Anymore, I can't imagine living without being a life-long member of CS again!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Lovin' latin music (classic and contemporary), but also a fan of most R&B, Rap, Hip-Hop, D'n'B, Jungle, Low Fidelity, Downtempo, Classic and Contemporary Rock, Jazz, Dubstep, Reggae (and Reggaetón), etc.

Most all movies I'm down for, especially comedies, drama, suspense, foreign and indie!! My all time fave: Office Space

I don't read many books for fun, only because as a student I "never had enough time", but I'm always interested in the way people interact and think. . . .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was a member of Americorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps). . .basically a domestic Peacecorps of sorts. Because of that program, I lived in Spain (both due to money earned and experiences had). . .having helped families repair homes after Hurricane George in Del Rio, Texas, or working in New Orleans after Katrina. . .using my hands to rebuild someone's past and future. . . .the payment of helping improve someone's level of living, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically. . .that's what gets me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I always think its cool to prepare meals from your area (or recent area of living) when at all possible. . .I might not eat much, but I love to eat a lot of everything!! When I take the time to cook, it usually is pretty decent (I'm all over BBQ!). Generally I'll try and cook with you, but I'm also limited in food space, so you might have to buy or contribute to the food situation while you stay, if not to ensure you get to eat the food you like!

Also, I've been trying to expand my music collection (who wouldn't?) and I've been into having guests share some of their favorite music, ESPECIALLY if its from their hometown/country! Because of it, I have Swedish Death Metal, Slovakian punk, Spanish Flamenco, Latin Pop, and a variety of others! Please, bring your favorite tunes so you'll leave some of your musical soul with me!! :-)

One thing, for the stressed female travellers out there (sorry guys, I learned on women), I consider myself a pretty good massage giver, since I started around 7 (and am 'limited' in usage of Level 1 Reiki too)! Bring your favorite massage oil/lotion if you're feeling up for one!

I've always been aware of the fact that even if I can't experience certain things myself, EVERYONE has lived through something that they can teach you or you can learn from them (and vice-versa). . .we can all learn through our collective experiences and grow as people together and on our own!
