About Me

Arizona native, but have lived in Bolivia and Colombia as a teacher for the last 6 years. You will find me enjoying the pleasures of nature like mountains and beaches in good company, dancing to and enjoying music, nerding out with some board games, starring in my own untelevised cooking show....etc. I am an absolute busybody- I like being active, productive, and having a good time. When I have a break from my teaching job, you will most surely find me hopping on a bus/train/plane/boat to travel, be in new places and engage with people. Conversation and novelty drive my most interesting memories.

For those looking to surf my couch: I know everybody has to start somewhere, but I take references as a host or surfer very seriously for my own comfort in opening my home to people I don't know. If you do not have any references that aren't personal, I would suggest first hosting to get references. That is what I did. I will be happy to meet you and show you around outside my home if you do not have references. I'm also happy to suggest things to do in the area to anyone!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed and hosted since 2012, and I participate in events. I have some great friends I met through CS.

My experience has been ALL GOOD! It's amazing to meet people and feel instantly comfortable and that is usuallly what happens with CS'ers-- we're all on the same mission of traveling and collaborating, and learning something new through the yews of a native or local. I've met so many good people and done so many fun things with CS people!

Interests

The obvious- travel, because I love everything about new places, good people, and exploration.

Teaching, cooking, social justice and environmental challenges, yoga, hiking, and being in the snow. I love seeing a place for its human made and geologic treasures, but I tend to prefer the natural ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentary lover
Fave weekly read is Vice Magazine US and Colombia
Wide music tastes from Reggaeton, to indie rock, to Andean folk

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My last month in La Paz I danced morenada with Los Intocables in Gran Poder, and climbed Nevado Ilimani!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach and share: No claim to being an expert here, but I can give some dance lessons in basics of salsa, bachata, cumbia...love to talk about environmentalism in action, love to collaborate or make veg cooking with/for hosts and surfers, spanish language/English. I also love board games so if you surf with me I can teach you Settlers of Catan or Carcassonne if you don't know them yet!

Please philosophize about life with me. I love expanding my understanding of time, travel, love...etc, and sharing about my journey.

I would like to learn more random things, from YOU.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, music, cooking, drinking games... see my teach/share section
