ABOUT ME

I've recently had something snap inside of me that got really scared that I was going to manage a grocery store for the rest of my life and take a week-long vacation every year as the extent of my traveling experience. So with this new-found fear, I quit my job, stored all my books (it was hard to part with my books), condensed my clothes to a backpack, and am trying new places. Currently I am in New Zealand; I leave for Australia within the month.

PHILOSOPHY

As stated above, the way I live my life is changing as we speak. But really, I've always lived just to listen to people and understand them. To laugh a LOT, and smile. And take things slowly. Appreciate them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

This is the beginning of my venture with Couchsurfing. As of now, I can only use it for being a visitor, although I would love to meet people to chat, not just to crash on their couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My really good friend uses it whenever she travels anywhere and has had so many great experiences through it, both of parts of town that she wouldn't normally explore as well as people that she wouldn't have had a chance to meet otherwise. I hope it can do the same for me.

Interests

I love to read, and am recently getting into memoirs. People are a new-ish fascination of mine, but now that I have it, I want to learn everything about everyone. I hate small talk, but I love learning about people.
I also thoroughly enjoy walking. Anywhere and everywhere. I try to leave my day as empty as free as possible so that I can walk to destinations without having to rush.
I just started loving live music. I think that I always liked it, but I hate big crowds and never realized how much opportunity there is to see bands/singers in small venues without the yucky sweaty crowds. I always want to hear local bands, and am up for any kind of music (except loud trashy metally stuff).

I don't like metal music, and I rarely like horror films. That's about it for dislikes. Everything else, I'm game to try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went bridge-jumping in college. It was the first time I learned that you can't think, you just have to DO. Which is why I'm gallivanting.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone, honestly. Everyone has something to learn from everyone, you sometimes just have to be patient enough to find it. I like everyone, and try to learn something from everyone, until they give me a reason to stop trying.
