About Me
CURRENT MISSION
In search of all the colors I have yet to see.
ABOUT ME
From Portland, to San Diego, to the Cascade Mountains of Washington, to St. Louis & now here in NOLA!
I moved to New Orleans because I I wanted a life full of unique music, amazing food & unmatched culture. More than anything I can't seem to get over how down to earth & kind people are in this city.
I seem to be one of those people who live on the outside of most any box, loving life with a great curiosity & desire to experience & see it all.
I live for adventure & freshness in life, soaking up cultures & places that are waiting to be explored.
I am an outdoorsy, open-minded, earthy, creative free spirit who is not easily rattled.
I play guitar, I take pictures, I travel like it's going out of style -whether that involves getting lost on the back country gravel roads of the Smokey Mountains or backpacking New York City.
I also drink Rolling Rock from the bottle more than any microbrew on tap & love discussing seemingly unsolvable problems.
I'm an outgoing, gregarious introvert so I definitely know how to do my own thing, with most of my traveling seeming to start solo, picking up stragglers along the way.
Pretty much no part of my life has gone according to plan which has taught me to make the most of it one day at a time.
And there is much to make the most of every day.
PHILOSOPHY
When I was five years old, my Mother told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy". They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to host travelers from pretty much everywhere! New Orleans has such an amazing soul & I especially love experiencing it with those falling hard for the 1st time.
My schedule stays pretty full with work during my on-week & traveling most of my off-weeks, but I seem to always be able to make a little time to share the city with those passing thru.
I'm still pretty green to surfing & am stoked to add another dimension to my travel life, looking forward to crashing a few couches & seeing your part of the world from the other end of the kaleidoscope.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I host when I'm in town, hope to surf when I'm not & do everything I can to experience & engage the world around me!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
They have these bumper stickers around town that read:
"New Orleans, proud to swim home".
It made me think about the people of Louisiana.
It made me ponder their resiliency & dedication.
It made me proud to live among such courageous people.
I hope that someday I'll be able to say that I'm proud to swim home too.
