About Me

CURRENT MISSION

travelling and discovering new places all over the world, meet different cultures, traditions and a lot new friends!

ABOUT ME

Well.. What can I say?
I am friendly, easy-going, open minded,
and I'll be happy to tell you more about me in front of a cup of soft fruits tea or a big creamy gelato while going for a walk C:!

I'm attending an internship in Ann Arbor, Michigan, so won't be in Florence till November. See ya when I come back!

Interests

Okay, travelling is my passion. But probably, as members of Couchsurfing, you wouldn't be here if you didn't like it too.

I'm a student of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Florence, Italy.

I volunteer as an Ambulance technician at Red Cross.

I spent the last year living and studying in Madrid at the University of San Pablo as Erasmus.

I really enjoy learning new languages: at the moment I am attending basic courses of German and French, but I would be glad to learn new words of any language if you will be happy to teach me!

I'm interested in ART, probably because i grew up in the city of Renaissance art par excellence. The painter I most admire is Salvador Dali and the surrealist movement.

I'd like to try extreme sports, like Sky-Diving, Bungee Jumping, Hang Gliding, Rafting, but I reckon sport in general a bit boring, especially due to the fact that I don't have much time to follow it (I know, I'm not a sportive person, but I can't be perfect, don't you think? ;D), at maximum I can support Fiorentina, the team of my city, but just for osmosys from my boyfriend, who is a real fan and supporter.
Anyway I'm open minded and this doesn't mean that you can't make me change my mind by trying to explain me what you really love about sport: just because I don't know it, it doesn't mean it is not worth it :)!
I really enjoy to walk anyway, because this gives me the opportunity to see the world surrounding me with new eyes every time. So if you'd like to go for a walk, jogging, trekking, or cycling, I'll be glad to come with you :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I obviously like to listen to all kind of music, but I particularly love Eddie Vedder's guitar arpeggios (Pearl Jam singer), country and folk music, the greatest italian song-writer of ever Fabrizio De André and last but not least, the Beatles.

My favourite movie is Into the Wild.
My favourite books are Harry Potter(I grew up with it, I still remember every words by heart), Coelho's The Alchemist and Kerouac's On the Road.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Interrail across Europe, with my 3 spanish friends. We started from Switzerland, then went to Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, and Netherlands, in a 22 days trip by train. Simply amazing.

-Cliffs of Moher, Republic of Ireland : 215 metres high on the Atlantic Ocean.. breathtaking landscape

- Giant Causeway, North Ireland : it said it was built by an Irish warrior Giant called Fionn mac Cumhaill to walk to Scotland to fight his Scottish enemy Benandonner.

- Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Northern Ireland.

Teach, Learn, Share

Yep, i'm from Florence. And here we're known for the pronunciation of "c" letter like an "h". Wherever you go in Italy, if you say "La CocaCola con la cannuccia corta corta e colorata" (it means Coke with a very short and coloured straw) in the way i'll teach you, everybody will immediately understand that you've been here in Florence :D!

So, apart from teaching the typical florentine "dialect", I can also tell you the traditional stories and curiosities of all our sightseeings ( weird things unknown by tourist guides, and sometimes neither by Florence people ;P ) or go for a walk with you to take photos of Brunelleschi's Cupola del Duomo, cross Arno river over Ponte Vecchio, admire the David of Michelangelo, visit Uffizzi Palace and wonder at the breathtaking view of the city from Piazzale Michelangelo..

I'd love to meet cultures different from mine too, make new friends and experiences, learn your language and taste strange foods, so, what are you waiting for :)?
