ABOUT ME

I am a young guy from Italy who would like to travel as much as he can and meet other people. I can be a little shy at the beginning, but when I´m at ease I´m not. I love chatting about everything and I am a good listener to other people talking. I´m open-minded, curious, interested in a lot of things and willing to know every day sth new...Well, that´s me in a nutshell.

PHILOSOPHY

I have been studying philosophy for sth like 4 years, spent trying to understand ancient greek´s philosophers, middle-age saints´pamphlets and so on, but I haven´t found my own way of thinking yet. I´m still looking for my philosophy and I hope to get to know the one that really suits me as soon as possible.

let me think...I don´t have any ideas of what I want to do in my life, not sure yet what is just a hobby and what will be my future job. But anyway, of course I love travelling (afs exchange student 2007-8) and enjoying other people´s company. I´m pretty much interested in almost every kind of art (ancient/contemporary or whatever will suit me), though it´s quite hard for me to see lots of exhibitions, as I live in a town. That´s why I love big, thrilling and busting cities (Milan in particular); there it´s possible to see the latest trends and what´s going on about culture, music, art and so on. Then, I have recently been introduced to issues, such as being vegetarian and environmentally-friendly, that I think are so interesting to make me think to pick both of them up. I ´ve been playing tennis for quite a lot of years (maybe 7 or 8, I don´t remember exactly), and I am a Roger Federer´s super-fan! Moreover, I´m keen on being active in charity work, because I think that will make the world a better place to stay and live. I like photography (Capa, Saudek, Witkin, Mapplethorpe, Avedon,...)

I can´t remember neither all of my favourite movies nor the best books I´ve ever read, although i love both movies and reading. So, I think that this list will be updated as often as one great movie or book seen maybe years before occured to my mind.
At the moment, I´m very keen on Woody Allen´s movies but I think that quite soon I´ll have a new favourite director. I´ll let you know! I´m also a good reader, since the time I´ve had a teacher who got this passion across to me. Recently I´ve read all of Pier Vittorio Tondelli´s books (he´s an italian writer), that I really appreciated (exspecially "Altri libertini"). Among the best readings of my life: "Voyage a bout de la nuit" and "Mort a credit" by Celine, "Die Verwirrungen des Zöglings Törleß" (dunno how it is translated into english...) by Musil, "The lord of the flies" (Golding), "The picture of dorian grey" (Wilde), "The dubliners" (Joyce), "Una questione privata" and "Il partigiano Johnny" (both written by Fenoglio). Other wirters I like are: Sandor Marai, Durrenmatt, Kafka.
What about music...I should say that I love listening to music, but I´ve never played an instrument or done personally sth related to this world. Some random bands I am used to listening to are Radiohead, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Queen, The cardigans, The beatles, Lou Reed&Velvet Undergroung, Nico, The muse, The verve, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Jeff Buckley, Fabrizio di André, Timoria, Afterhours,...and some others that now are escaping me. I love The rocky horror picture show´s soundtrack! It´s brilliant, as the movie is.

I could teach u some random italian words, how to cook some foods (even if I´m not a very good cook). Maybe sth else, but I don´t have in my mind nothing else at the moment.
