About Me
*** Will be away 10-21st August and 27th August til 1st October so not able to accept guests around those periods***
Weekdays are better than weekends as I'm a shift worker.
Currently cycling Land's End to John O'Groats : http://fleabite.wordpress.com/category/lejog
Interests
Nerdy: board games, sci fi, programming (C and python), learning electronics (playing with arduino etc).
Learning: Museums. Sceptics in the pub. Online courses (edX mostly). Libraries. Public lectures and other ways to feed my insatiable appetite for learning now that I'm no longer formally studying - did manage almost 7 years of academia though, which is not bad considering I started when I was 29!
Travel: Love maps, wild camping, mountains, lochs, adventures, new places. What's round the next corner/over the next pass? Overlanding in Africa. Buses and trains in India. Foods, music, clothes, landscapes, and new friends in each new country I have privilege of visiting. Prefer having several months of each year travelling rather than doing a once in a lifetime trip and then settling down.
Progressive politics: Anarchist, feminist, wannabe pacifist.
Other things I like talking about: Judaism (especially for those of us who are queer and have progressive politics), stationary, pirates, cephalopods. Whatever *you* are interested and passionate about - I love hearing about new things and ideas.
