ABOUT ME

Before anything else, I'm first a traveler, a carrier of visa ink virus and a moody writer.

My alter ego is called Scissorbella and I'm cuckoo about hair, scissors, combs & everything in between.

I have been interested in places and faces. My blog - Two torn shoes is an interesting account of an itinerant traveller, the cultures I have encountered and the people I have met.
So, my interest in hair come less out of the fashion pages and more out of national geographic! Because hair for me is not just about hair itself, but the jaw-line, the colour of one’s eyes, the cheekbone, the shape of the nose....Mumbai is my current port of call... I have styled and coloured blonde, brunette and red head; the secretary and the stock broker; the trendy and the elegant; asian, black and Caucasian...

I'm originally and at heart from a small, valley-town in the north of India called Dehradun. I'm a mountain girl. I flourish in cold weather and wilt in the heat. My formative, some growing up and few adult years were also spent in Bhutan, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bombay and Delhi. For a few years, I also lived and worked in the hot and arid, Dubai but wasn't crazy about it. The only good thing about being in Dubai was that I could travel and explore Middle East and Europe extensively.

I have huge wanderlust and that is an understatement. I live and earn only to be able to travel and see the world. I have itchy-feet and am always ready for a holiday. I love being outdoors, enjoy walking, mountains, swimming, being on the streets, cafes, bazaars, art, music, theatre, photography, reading and observing my cat.

Professionally, I've been a publicist for most part of my career. It's a tragic flaw - something I'm good at and can make a decent living from but not something that I like or enjoy doing.
For now, I'm in love with hair.

I have hosted a lot, though not all have been couch surfers. The joy of hosting is to learn, soak and exchange.
I would like to continue hosting and meeting new people but as I'm in London and I don't have a place of my own, it be nice be hosted myself :)
