Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Recklessly seeking life experiences.
ABOUT ME
Georgia farmgirl turned diehard Brooklynite turned sunburned island woman turned schoolmistress turned cowgirl turned burner. By turns deeply pragmatic, impulsive, abstract, tender, abrupt. Perpetually hungry, both for food and adventure. Likewise prone to feeding both those appetites in others.
PHILOSOPHY
Follow your belly to the green pasture.
Lie down in the sun's dapple.
Life is not as dangerous
as mother said.
It is more dangerous,
more wide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I traveled across America aboard a double-decker upside-down school bus with an organic garden on the top. We gave away armfuls of apples in New York City, slept under the stars in Iowa cornfields, hurtled down the Rockies billowing black smoke, broke down crossing the salt flats, and wandered barefoot through San Francisco - all while petitioning to get a garden growing on the White House Lawn. Now, one does.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook cuisines from around the world; I'm an expert in food issues & sustainable agriculture (urban and rural); I'm a strong writer and photographer. Things I have taught in the past include English as a second language, voice & speech, cooking, and yoga.
Things I want to learn: the harmonica; beekeeping; Spanish; cooking techniques and recipes from other cultures; how to build a straw-bale house; various kinds of fermentation; expertise on esoteric and niche subjects.
I love to sing and will be happy if you sing with me.
