ABOUT ME

Moin moin, I am Flemming Fischer. I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Bremen in Germany. My interest for travelling and foreign cultures relates back to me being of mixed heritage. I'm both German and Chinese. Maybe through my mixed heritage I don't feel like there's one home for me. I often feel the urge to travel somewhere else. That's why I first decided to spend a year in the USA which was a great. Since I liked it so much I wanted to spend another year abroad. Because I'm also Chinese, I felt it's good to explore your other roots. So that's what I did after I graduated from High School. Now I'm currently in Nanjing, China as a volunteer teacher.
I haven't been in the Couchsurfer community before but I already hosted two short term exchange students from Ireland and Cameroon which I thought was great. As I have learnt in my life, exchanges between different cultures are an important way to improve global understanding. That's why I want to take part. Maybe one day there will be global peace when we put down our narrow-mindness!

Music:
I like to listen to many different artists from many genres, usually depending on mood. Some artists I like: Linkin Park, Kings of Leon, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, J. Cole
Movies/TV Shows:
I like to watch a movie/TV show with a good story and interesting characters. My favorites: Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Dexter, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad
Books:
I recently discovered my over the years lost love for books again by starting to read the series of The Song of Ice and Fire. I‘m reading the third one right now.
I enjoyed reading books of Dan Brown, Ken Follett, the Harry Potter ones and some others I don't remember right now.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most amazing things I've done that also changed my perspective on life were my decisions to go abroad to, first the USA during my time in high school, and secondly to spend a gap year in China after my high school graduation. During both my years I learned so much about myself and to appreciate life, friends and family. Just ask me more about what amazing things I've done and I'll tell you for sure :)
