About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get out there, explore, and never regret

ABOUT ME

What can I say, I have lived in a few places, I have had a few jobs, and I have traveled a bit. I feel I have lived my life in epochs, and each one I have had different values, or better put each time I refine the things that are truly important to me. I think my defining moment in life was when I was laid off from my job and had the gift of being able to stop and look a round at my life. Since then I have done many things I never thought I would/could, and it has only increased my appetite for more!

PHILOSOPHY

I think life is way too short to not do what you want, I hate the idea of living outside of my means. I love doing things on my own and pushing myself out of my comfort zone everyday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have had so many amazing people help me out in life that I live for hosting and learning from travelers. I have surfed, I have hosted, and I have met some great friends along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Again, I have hosted, I have surfed, I have met friends in my area, all around I have had a great experience with Couchsurfing, and I want to continue meeting awesome people.

Interests

I love to travel, meet people and cultures, stay up all night in good conversation. I love trekking and the outdoors. I love cooking and eating healthy. Finally as funny as it sounds I love walking, as much as I have walked it has become my quiet time, and I feel like I accomplish so much when I just walk, it makes me feel sad for all those people who go everywhere in cars and all the things they are missing

Music, Movies, and Books

you know I don´t know anymore. Movies seem to come and go all the time, and music seems like it has almost come and gone, it had such a special place in my life years ago, and now I don't go out of my way to listen to anything. Books, well I love reading, especially a book that I can learn something from.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well I hope I get the chance to always update this with the most amazing thing I have done, and I think MOST amazing is always up for discretion. I mean I have some friends and family who would say everything I do is amazing when they look at my life from their shoes, and I can feel the same when I look at other surfers who have done amazing things. I feel though, the most amazing thing I have ever done is thru-hike the Appalachian Trail in 2010. 2179.1 miles from Georgia to Maine. From that experience I have had the confidence and courage to continue traveling. Just this year(2015) I completed a 3000km tramp across New Zealand called the Te Araroa Trail.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm one of those fix it guys. I knew I needed to be an engineer from like 5 years old when I started taking everything apart to see how it works. I like to tackle anything, dive in over my head and learn my way out. for starters I am no stranger to computers and can help you out with almost anything you need, I know my way around the house too, I've helped my dad do everything possible to a house. I can be a car guy, but I think my claim to fame is lightweight backpacking, I just finished a 4 month trail in New Zealand with a backpack that weighed 3.8 kg.
