About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get out there and enjoy life!
ABOUT ME
I currently live in Melbourne with my husband Silvan (you can find his profile in my friends list). We actually met through a couchsurfing ski event in Switzerland!
I am originally from Melbourne. I lived in Bern while finishing my Master of Teaching in Switzerland some years ago and discovered the Swiss Couch Surfing community. Love traveling and thought this was a great way to improve my language skills. I have also worked in Sweden and been on exchange to Austria.
PHILOSOPHY
Karma sums up my thoughts on how this world operates. You put in something good in some way or form and somehow or other sometime later you will benefit. It's true, try it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting people at home and abroad. Taking volunteer guided walks in various languages around Melbourne when I'm there. Couch surfing. Picking up the odd hitch hiker. Connecting people I think might be good friends when traveling.
In Switzerland I have also enjoyed catching up with the Bern Couch Surfers to go hiking, have a drink, attend a Living Room Concert or to paddle down the Aare in a blow up boat!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I have only been officially involved in couch surfing here for 6 years, I have effectively been participating in this concept for years. I have regularly got someone I know (or even someone I just met!) crashing at my place and am not averse to doing the same thing while traveling!
Interests
Cooking and entertaining for friends, traveling, meeting new people, learning about new cultures, languages, cycling, running, adventure racing, hiking...adventures of any kind!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught in a school with only 1 student in my French class and 2 students in my Biology class! Now that's small.
Hitchhiked for 5 hours with a Chilean policeman who didn't speak any English!
Hosted an Orphan's Christmas in Switzerland where nobody knew all the guests before arriving but by the time Santa arrived it was like having dinner with old friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook with friends especially when I come to stay. It's a great way to learn about people, sharing a meal.
I could also teach you to row if you've got a boat! I spent many years doing this at crazy hours of the morning!
