ABOUT ME

Culture and history have so much influence on the way people think. I love learning about both, although I must admit, I used to think history was such a bore. I love talking to people about their aspirations, and their views on life on general; but I am more a listener than a talker.

I have been trying to become more independent as of late, and I find it not only a lonely journey, but a challenging quest as well in which you learn more about yourself and the world as how it really is.

I am a pretty serious person when it comes to academics. Although, I am the kind of person that needs encouragement to force me to do something. Once I start, I try to do the best that I can. It's just starting that's sometimes the problem.

I love music, all kinds--although rap and country are not among my favorites. My favorite bands include everything from kokolo, enya, classical all the way to everclear, all american rejects, lifehouse, etc. I especially love listening to live bands.

I also enjoy making ethnic food i.e. aloo gobi, mango with sticky rice, and the like. I like making food, but baking is what I'm best at, whether it's brownies, or cake. Unfortunately, China has few ovens, so I've recently started looking into making no-bake sweets.

I utterly love couchsurfing, and meeting not only brilliant but cool, friendly people.

Interests

Very passionate about learning, finding my own way in life. Also want to learn sign language someday. My goals include to know Spanish, Chinese competently by the time I am 25.

Other interests include reggae, latin music, indie music, and making homemade crafts. I have just gotten into reading books, and with traveling I go through books pretty fast.

Someday I will make it to Southeast Asia. I plan to make my own living soon now that I only have a year before I graduate from undergrad and live someday in Southeast Asia, China, and/or New Zealand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Met the girl passing the torch on Huangshan with my israeli friends. We thought it was fake at first, and were wondering why she would be carrying a fake torch. Then we looked at the clothing, and i have to admit, screamed like little girls. After, we took a picture with her. (The torch has been following me.)
