About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a practicing physiotherapist, a career I accidentally stumbled across after completing 4 years of industrial design. This was a lesson in serendipity I guess, because I never would have taken one path with out the other.

I'm also trying to write childrens books and some travel stuff I produce music with anything you can put your hands on, drum samples, ukelele, synthesiser and sing aswell.

The third part of my identity would be travel - seeing the world by foot originally and now bicycle (I've toured in Australia, Eastern and Western Europe and Latin America) (North America next!) Go and ride your bicycle across a country, I guarantee you won't regret it. Or better yet - come with me!

PHILOSOPHY

Everything is so temporary, so be present and put down that handheld device! (irony, as I update this on a said handheld device).

If food doesn't taste good with either peanut butter and or bacon - then why eat it?

Shower in the dark as often as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being a rad host and an equally rad surfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few surfers so far, but they've mainly been through friends of friends, as well as attending a couple of events back in my local home town of Brisbane. I've also surfed a few times. Experience has been nothing but delightful in both roles.

Interests

I do really love nice coffee, radiohead, novel beer and well fitting trousers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm more of a tv series guy.

Frasier, Deadwood, battlestar galatcia, cowboy beebop, berserk, arrested development, The thick of it, veep, Seinfeld (of course) aqua teen hunger force and 12oz mouse are some of my favourites.

Music makes up the skeleton of my day to day life and id say Radiohead is the closest thing I have to religion. After that the list is very, very long.

Jon hopkins, jamie xx, Sigur Ros, Andrew Bird, Bon Iver, Elbow, Grizzly Bear, Beirut, run the jewels, young fathers, big scarey, Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, The National, bonobo, washed out, James Vincent McMorrow, Jonsi, Kaki King, Yoko Kano, The cinematic orchestra, Bear McCreary, Nick Cave, Coldplay, Tom waits, Apparat, Modeselektor, Parov Stelar, Caribou, Fortet, Ratatat, Royksopp, James Holden, Massive Attack, Jimmy Hendrix, George Ezra, Hudson mohawke,
Jon talbot, nosaj thing, moderat. Yeah it's too much.

For books - I'm not particularly discriminate but I'm a sucker for a classic. Jack Kerouac and Gabriel Garcia Marquez, to name a couple of authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the best five weeks of my life were spent walking the camino de santiago in Spain. Starting in St Jean pede du port, France, I walked just under 900 kms to Finistere on the far eastern coast of Spain. Along the way I met the most amazing group of people who became my Camino family. We've been in contact ever since.

The bicycle tours I've undertaken have all been incredible for very different reasons, but my debut probably was the most special. Staring I Hungary, three of us traveled through Serbia, Romania,
Bulgaria and terminated in Istanbul. I've toured sydney to melbourne, and am just off the back of a pacific coast of u.s and mexico tour. Best days of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook reasonably well - star menu items include; beef stroganof, a mean stir fry, lasange and probably one of the best chocolate orange cakes you've ever had. I'm always looking to expand my culinary repitoire (Id love to know how to bake bread).

I want to learn how to ride a horse and speak French (at the same time, of course). And the tenor saxophone. And! How to sew ( mainly that part of your pants that wears out quickly) (and buttons back on to trousers).

I can teach some pretty basic techniques
With a few musical instruments - drums, ukelele, guitar and voice to name a few. I can also teach you fluent Australian language...I'm not sure if this is a good
Thing.
