I am a lifelong musician on a 5-month cross-country music tour from south Florida to the west coast --> PNW --> Midwest --> Northeast, and then back to Florida.

Flint Blade weaves sonic textures from across the galaxy to create uplifting soundscapes live in the moment.

Channeling inspiration via electronics, beatbox, vocals and various world instruments, Flint has made a name for himself by mastery of the Chapman Stick — a rare instrument most people have never seen before.

Invented in 1969 California, the Stick combines bass and guitar into a full-range fretboard played exclusively by two-handed tapping; conjuring rich tapestries of sound full of whimsy and wonder.

Based in South Florida, Flint tours nationally, performing on festival stages, ecstatic dance floors and conscious spaces across the country while releasing beautiful bangers on High Vibe Records and his own label, In Love Records.

Drawing influence from diverse musical traditions, Flint is known to swirl it all in: ethereal new age; dub reggae; jazz; downtempo electronica and high energy house music all culminate into a signature “Jambient” sound that brings people out of their heads, into their bodies and onto the dance floor.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

It's been years since I've engaged with the Couchsurfing platform, but in my early years of touring I was a frequent Couchsurfing guest and eventually began hosting people regularly at my home in Florida.

These days I'm back on the tour grind, all self-managed and self-booked; I do it to spread love and joy as far and wide as possible. It wouldn't be possible without the generosity of like-minded folks who enjoy hosting travelers with a mission, like myself.

Even if I had the budget for hotels, I find them to be rather impersonal; I much prefer connecting with locals and staying in places that feel like home, and hopefully making new friends while I'm at it!

Aside from music...

I love plants and gardening... and FOOD (vegan food)
My favorite plants are the ones I can eat.

I love going to the beach, mostly for swimming and finding peace in the sound of the waves.
occasionally, I'll surf and catch a few waves, but I'm rather a novice in that department.

Khruangbin is probably my favorite music group of all time.
Talking Heads have been very influential on my own music, especially with my full band.
I grew up on the Beatles and Pink Floyd.

I love Dave Brubeck, Bill Evans, Brad Mehldau and jazz music of that ilk.

I'm an aficionado of various types of electronic music, mostly the kind that is uplifting.
I love dub reggae.

Favorite books:
Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis.
The Silmarillion, The Hobbit and various other Tolkien works.
Ender's Game and other novels by Orson Scott Card.
The Harry Potter series will always have a place in my heart.

Movies:
Star Wars
David Lynch films and especially the entire Twin Peaks TV series.
