About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to solve the riddles of life...

ABOUT ME

I have a natural tendency to take things easy and very seriously at the same time. Don't ask me how I do it! I tend to be in a good mood and hardly anything can stress me out. I try to be very conscious of the things beyond the small and limited sphere I would call "my life" and try to live according to the premises required for living as a part of this world, life and time. Not always successful, I try to be as open minded far sighted as I can.

I found my passion for philosophy a few years back, so my life is at least to, let's say, 75% devoted to the Great Books. I have gotten more education and great advice from great thinkers of the past than I will probably ever receive a life long studying at the university.

I have much to say and will do so at the appropriate moment. Otherwise I am quite quiet.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is "philosophy". Thus a life devoted to wisdom and understanding under the Socratic verdict, that all I know is that I know nothing. Hence I must keep learning. The flip-side to this is, of course, teaching. I don't wish to make a permanent residence on the ivory tower of contemplation, but want to encourage whoever I can to think for themselves and question the fundamentals of their life, to see if they are indeed so essential. All this can only be motivated by love and friendship.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far my experiences have been great. But I must admit that I haven't made too many CS experiences yet.

Interests

Despite being a bookworm, I also enjoy film, theater, classical, jazz, independent and electronic music. I love to travel, but most of the time my travels take me into the depths of foreign thoughts an cultures I encounter between the lines of writings.
I am also slowly developing a passion for languages and hope to tackle the difficulties of Arabic and Hebrew scripture soon.
