Wazuuuupp, i’m flo. If you are reading this i assume you are at least somewhat considering to host me or stay at my place, thats great!
Im not too big at writing, but still, i hope this here gives you a little impression if who I am.
Lets start with the standard smalltalk opening facts: im a 22 year old German dude who would cal himself somewhat of an optimist.
I lived most of my life in düsseldorf, Germany, but moved to the cozy town of leiden in the Netherlands, where i just finished my Bachelor. So after finishing that i moved to Aachen, where I might host you, to do a second bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (yay i‘ll be super old when I graduate)
In between this and the time i lived in düsseldorf, i lived in The north east of South Africa for about a year. That was till daddy Corona decided its time to go home.
During that year i was on kind of a cultural scholarship where i lived with a guest family in a township called Lebowakgomo (forget all your prejudices about townships, most of them are not true. You don’t get stabbed as soon as you leave the house, unlike what many people say, lol). After that I had the privilege to stud in beautiful taiwan for a Semester on a University exchange.
This definitely force a lesson on me: try your best to approach people without prejudices, consider cultural differences when judging people and actions, and be a little naive. This is easy to write but increadbly hard to do, and im am the one struggeling the most with it.

I love good discussions, wether they are political or more philosophical. I totally respect different opinions and actually appreciate them as i am keen to understand the thoughts behind these. Maybe you will change my views?

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

People from different places bring different perspectives and world views. Through couchsurfing it is super easy to get in contact with these world views and understand why certain people do things in a certain way. Isn’t that amazing?

兴趣

I like windsufing a lot, just as hiking, swimming, sailing etc. just basically anything that somehow has to do with outdoors. i love nature the total freedom it brings with it.

音乐、电影和书籍

1984 is probably the best, most visionary book ever written. A true classic that is still quite easy to read. But generally im a fan of light, positive literature, and not that much into drama.

I liste to a broad collection of music, ranging from techno when i want to get hyped up, to some dramatic classical wagner on cozy, rainy days. But most of all, im a giant Fleetwood Mac and Nina Simone fan (even got a poster or two of her)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

20€ aleeper train between johnneaburg and cape town that was supposed to take 22 hours, but had slight technical problems which made the journey last 65 hours. The whole train became kind of a dynamit community, with super interesting stories to share

I’d love to cook for you! Im defnetly no gourmet chef, and also not too well know with traditional german dishes, but people say my risotto is quiet good. On the other hand it would be great to learn about new recipies from you !

I can also teach you a little bit if german, or translate texts for you, even though im not the best teacher.
