ABOUT ME

We enjoy having a cup of coffee with friends, travelling and exploring the world, binge-watching TV shows, doing drama, making short clips or movies, taking pictures of everything, doing weird (and sometimes creative) stuff, but also going to museums or having fruitful discussions about politics, society, environment, films, books, art, music, philosphy...
We are both active in a political youth organisation attenting and organising workshops, and love to work on projects together!
We're sure there will always be something interesting to talk about with us - and we really enjoy people telling us stories of their life.

We love cooking (and eating even more!) and, as we both are vegetarian, we are trying new, different meals that, mostly, taste quite good. If someone hosts us, we surely can cook a nice dinner for you - as long as you don't expect too much ;)

Flora: It's fun to hang out with me, because I always come up with crazy, creative ideas what to do or where to hang out. I love having good conversations, sometimes sitting at home and having a nice talk after a good movie can be enough to make me happy. One of my hobbies is getting to know people from all over the world - so let's get started!

Stefan: The first time you meet me, I might seem shy and won't talk that much, but if you get to know me for about half an hour your opinion will definitely change. I like to talk but sometimes even more to listen.

And in the end: we love travelling! And for us of course, as it is probably for every CSs, it's important to get the "feeling" of the country we're travelling to, by going to insider places, alternative and beautiful spots, to meet diverse people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to surf some couches, because to me a holiday isn't a holiday if I don't get to know some locals that show me their favourite spots in town. I wouldn't mind hosting someone at all, but there is rarely space in my house. However, there is always a couch - just depending on when you plan to arrive :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We went to Paris for 6 days and had a wonderful and comfortable time with two different hosts! It worked great and we're going to couchsurf some more parts of the world.

Flora did some couchsurfing in Munich, Germany, as well and really enjoyed it. Since she was staying with a Girl in a student's home, she got to know a lot of people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a passionate movie-watcher, so this list will be endless. My favourites are: Garden State, In Bruges, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, Kill Bill, Mulan, Pan's Labyrinth, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Trainspotting, Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulin , Matrix, Midnight in Paris, Watchmen, Fight Club...

sometimes we also produce our own films - we did some short clips and sketches.

Sometimes I regret it when I've just finished a good book, because I want to know how the story continues. My favourite authors are: Nick Hornby, Astrid Lindgren, Bertolt Brecht, Elfriede Jelinek, Ingeborg Bachmann, Ruth Klüger, Daniel Kehlmann, Stefan Zweig, Wolf Haas & Daniel Glattauer, Peter Handke, Veza Canetti...

My favourite bands change all the time, but at the moment it has to be: Polarsets, Portugal.The Man, Marina and the Diamonds, Pixies, Flight Facilities, I Blame Coco, Tomte, Garfunkel & Oats, Robyn and Paper Bird, as well as Coldplay, die Toten Hosen, Muse, Bonaparte, shout out louds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

one fantastic thing was the sunset in Budapest in summer 2011. We went to the hill of the city with its libertystatue and had some Falaffel-Kebab with us. There we had a picnic while watching the sunset - amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Flora is able to play the guitar, we could teach you that. Also, she is a part-time German Teacher, so we could teach you some German! Or how to cook some meatless meal. If you are not able to look really stupid on photos yet, that would also be a skill we are able to teach! Maybe check out the rest, if there is any ;)

Of course we can teach you german, and Flora is able to teach you some Afrikaans as well.

We really love to learn everything!! Except it´s something stupid. ok well NO! then we want to learn that too.
