Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and get to know the "real" way of live of the cities locals. And couchsurfing is one of the best ways to get to know a city and a countries culture and, of course, locals. And I really love the idea of a worldwide helping and hosting community for people that have, more or less, the same passion - to travel and get to know new countries and cultures.
Unfortunately I can't host anybody at the moment because I'm traveling through Brasil. But looking foreward hosting or at least helping travelers in my hometown in the future :)

Interests

My interests are traveling, cultures, cooking, photography, dancing, painting, bike riding especially at sunset or at night on empty streets, walking through unknown streets of unknown cities without having any clue where you're heading, beaches, spectacularly nature and countrysides, music, good conversations, handicrafts, seeing art exhibitions... Ehmm I think that's it for now.

Music, Movies, and Books

That's hard with music, I have not just one type of favorite music.. It all depends on the music itself, on the moment and myself. But if course there are music types I prefer more then others, but Im also always open for new stuff, especially of other countries while traveling.
But my favorite music gender are: soul as from Sade, funk and soul of the 60ies and 70ies, funky RnB as from Erykah Badu, old school hip hop, brazilian music such as samba, mpb etc. from artists like vinicius de moraes, caetano veloso, jorge ben jor, criolo, curumin, tim maia, gal costa, natiruts, and so much more, reggae, north american bluegrass, some rock for exemple the mars volta, and in general "worldmusic" and all kinds of experiments with it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived two months in Indonesia and did some social work there, teaching englisch in kindergartens and schools and doing cultural exchanges with and indonesian organization. What a great and unforgettable experience! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope to share some cultural exchange and some good conversations, aaaand maybe some nice cooking :) preparing some lunch, dinner or something - I really like to cook, especially for or with people and I am always interested and open for new things!
