I'm on couchsurfing to meet people from the countries I visit, I think it's always way more interesting to meet the locals from the place you're visiting. I had one experience in Canada where I was hosted by a couple who were really nice and I'd like to renew the experience.

My favorite books are fantastic sagas such as Harry Potter, The Farseer Trilogy, Eragon...
