Because I'm stingy! No, the serious reason it is a lovely way to visit a place and get a local's insight and meet interesting people.

A few years ago I used to host (but i lost my old account hum) when I lived in Nanjing, China, and I really loved hosting and showing the city around to travelers. I now don't have my own place yet, but when that comes I hope I can host again. In the mean time I'll be happy to surf nice person's couch.

2 month in a windfarm in the desert in China in winter, spending 8 hours up there everyday to do tests or repairs.

But it paid off as it is where I met my Chinese husband, who was working there too.
