Hey everyone!

I'm Florian. I live in Utrecht (the most beautifull city) in the Netherlands. I am 24 years old and study Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University. I am a music addict and love listening and playing music. Since I was 16 I have been in bands and been in love with all kinds of music. At this moment I am the lead singer of a rock band called Between the Jars (you can find us on Facebook if you're curious ;))

Besides music I love travelling and seen quite a lote of Europe! For my Bachelor Thesis I am going to do research in the United States which will be my first intercontinental trip! Also love reading, watching movies and series and what not.

Also learned a very good nasi recipe from my Indonesian grandma which I would be happy to share ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love travelling and love meeting people from all around the world!

Some of my most memorable encounters have been with people that I met during my vacations and travels through Europe. I am anxious to see the rest of the world and also to show people all the beautifull and weird places that the Netherlands has to offer.

Interests

As I mentioned before I love music, collecting vinyl and playing music. I sing and play guitar and love all kinds of music. From jazz to rock, blues to pop, dance to funk.

Besides that I also love movies, and was once quite a big videogame nerd. Still love playing videogames when the time allows it. Personal favorite: everything Nintendo.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Played through all Zelda games in a week or so. Still an achievement I cherish.

A better example would be an amazing hiking trip through France. At the top of the mountain there was a beautifull reservoir with ice and water as clear as I have ever seen. The moment the mud changes to snow, ice and clear water when you look into the crater was pretty exhilarating.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a kick-ass Indonesian recipe for nasi handed down by my grandma. I can show you the city of Utrecht and share some of the most special places in the city. Besides that I can only share my hospitality and myself as a conversational partner :)
