My first English book was "A Farewell To Arms" by Ernest Hemingway, I liked it a lot. My all-time-favorite is "Slaughterhouse Five" by Kurt Vonnegut, after that "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde and "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Haruki Murakami. And who doesn't like Franz Kafka?

If you're interested in politics you should try "Post-Truth" by Lee McIntyre and "Free Speech: Ten Principles for a Connected World" by Timothy Garton Ash.
