About Me
Hi!
I'm a 31 year old German who is going to start a one year adventure in Australia in March 2016. Although I'm an Electrical Engineer (some kind of german cliché) I might not be the kind of person you would expect when thinking of the "typical german" :-) . I'm a very relaxed, open minded, outgoing and humorous person who likes to meet new people and trying out new things. As I've mostly been traveling in Europe my whole life I'm really excited about visiting countries "far away" now and getting to know their people, language and culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like the idea of getting to know locals and learning about a place by a native. In my opinion this is the best way for a real experience of a place. Besides I like the idea of having made local friends around the world :-).
Interests
I'm interested in a lot of different things. I love nature and every activity that has to do with it (hiking, cycling, running, swimming, camping etc.). Also I'm very interested in culture, especially music (mostly the "handmade" kind) as I'm learning to play the guitar since a few years, but also movies, arts, theatre and literature. I like to learn languages and finding out how the local slangs are.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music is the "old stuff" - bluesy like Robert Johnson, melancholic like Bob Dylan and rock 'n' roll like the Rolling Stones or AC/DC. As a "wannabe" guitarist I listen to a lot of guitar-based music (e.g. John Butler, Gary Clarke Jr., The Black Keys, Audioslave, Muse, Metallica, AC/DC, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ratatat etc.) but I also like alternative things and Indie music (e.g. Maximo Park, Blues Pills, Wolfmother, Bonaparte, Arcade Fire, Radiohead etc.). I could talk about music all day long :-). I like the movies of the Coen Brothers and Quentin Tarantino for their humor and the unexpected plots and stories. Concerning books I'm really into the Fantasy and Horror stuff but also a fan of really good literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most recent amazing thing I've done was sleeping on a tree house in 40 m height in the jungle of Laos. A truly unique experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Technical knowledge, language skills, stories about life and music and some kind of german food skills :-).
